For specialist staff

Office and specialist consoles

Not everyone at a school needs the whole console. Bellmeir ships four focused logins, each landing on its own home screen with exactly the pages that job needs and nothing else. This page compares them; each has its own guide.

Creating these logins. An admin or principal creates them from Settings → Team and logins in the web console. Each person signs in with their school email and a password, and sets their own password on first sign-in, exactly like other staff.

Why a focused login rather than an admin one

Giving the accounts clerk or the school nurse a full admin login is both confusing for them and risky for you.

  • A calmer screen. The person sees only their own module, so there is nothing to learn that they will never use
  • Tighter safety. No accidental edits to timetables, marks or student records outside their remit
  • Clear accountability. Every action in a module is tied to the person who performed it
  • They land where they work. Each of these logins opens on its own home screen, not on a school dashboard they have to navigate away from
Modules are hidden, not greyed out. A screen a role does not hold is absent from the sidebar and the search entirely, so nothing anyone can see is a dead end. The same rule applies to modules your school has not taken.

My HR, their own record

A tick is full access, an eye is view or limited access, a cross is no access at all.

All four are employees, not just logins

Everybody with one of these logins is on the school's payroll and its staff register. They each get a payslip, a leave balance, and a My HR screen where they file their own leave and running-late notices, rather than asking the office to do it on their behalf.

A staff member who holds a login cannot be deleted, only deactivated. Deleting would take somebody off the payroll and the register while they carried on signing in daily.

Extra duties for teachers, which are not a login

Related but different: an existing teacher can be granted exam coordinator, timetable builder or sports rep from their profile. That extends their existing teacher account rather than creating a second one. See the teacher web portal guide.
