Which app do I use?
Bellmeir is a web portal plus two mobile apps, and every role belongs to one of them. This page says which surface is yours, what you sign in with, and where the guide for your job lives.
The three places Bellmeir lives
The web portal
Opened in a browser on a desk computer or a laptop. Nine roles work here, and seven of them work nowhere else. This is where the school is actually run: enrolment, fees, timetables, exams, HR, transport and every register.
The school app
One Android app for teachers, parents and students. It adapts to whoever signs in, so there is a single download and a single login screen, not three apps.
The driver app
A separate Android app for van drivers only, with bigger touch targets and larger text for someone holding a phone in a moving vehicle.
Who uses what
A tick means the role signs in there and has real work to do. A cross means there is no login for that role on that surface at all, not a limited one.

Teachers use both, on purpose
A teacher has one account. The same email and password opens the app on their phone and the portal in a browser, and the two show the same data the moment either one saves. What differs is what each is good at.

Use the phone for the things that happen while you are standing up, and the browser for the things that need a keyboard and a big screen. Nothing has to be re-entered when you switch. There is a full guide for each: the teacher web portal and the teacher app.
Parents, students and drivers have no web login
This is a deliberate design choice, not a missing feature, so it is worth stating plainly rather than leaving you hunting for a sign-in page.
- Parents and students use the school app. Everything they are entitled to see, attendance, marks, report cards, homework, the class diary, fees, circulars, conduct, the van map, is in it.
- Drivers use the driver app. Nothing they do, starting a run, marking boarding, raising an SOS, makes sense on a desk computer.
- Attempting to sign in to the portal with a family or driver account will not work. The portal is a staff tool.
How each group signs in
Staff sign in with a school email
Admin, principal, teacher, accounts, doctor, librarian and receptionist all sign in with the email address the school registered plus a password. On the very first sign-in you are asked to set your own password before anything else opens.
Families and drivers sign in with a phone number
Parents, students and drivers use the phone number the school registered plus a password the office issues on paper. They are not forced to change it, because a forced change on a shared family phone locks families out on day one.
A phone number is unique within a school, not across schools
A parent with children at two schools that both use Bellmeir has two accounts on the same number. The password decides which one opens.
A lost password is replaced, never recovered
Family and driver passwords are stored hashed, so nobody, including us, can read one back. The office issues a fresh one from the student or driver record, and it is shown once on a printable slip.
